Advice - Rotary Mower - Tarter vs Agri Four

Have you considered used? I'd spring for a used woods, landpride, bushhog, rhino, etc before a new cheaper cutter.

As others said, they will all be sufficiently heavy duty enough for what you describe. For pasture grasses, I'd be looking for the highest blade tip speed I could find in a 4' model.....and get one that comes standard with high lift (sometimes called suction type) blades

Thanks for all of your help. I was set on buying a used model of a better known brand, but havent seen anything in the last 6 months come up on craigslist or the local guys. One woods came up and they wanted more money than the new ones and it was rusted out lol. I just cant wait any longer so figured one of the cheaper cutters will do.

Thanks again for the input guys.

One thing I would check before buying is parts availability. What location or (preferably) website can you use to get parts in a timely fashion? This is important with tractors and equipment, and is one of my main reasons for buying brand name products. Without parts availability you are one breakdown away from having a piece of equipment that is unusable to you.
