I have always used Baum's hydraulic calculators. They are a great FREE tool for figuring hydraulic needs. Baum Hydraulics Corp :: Spec Calculator
Also would like to add, I have had great luck with purchasing my hydraulics on Ebay.....then again, I am a certified Ebay-a-holic. I purchased all 4 cylinders and new New Holland joystick for my loader off Ebay for a total of less than $300 including shipping (retail would have been well over $1000). A quick search for "hydraulic cylinder" will usually bring up a wide selection and with a little patience, new, brand name cylinders can be had for a fraction of MSRP.

I bought a 3 x 24 inch welded cylinder off of Ebay, price with shipping was $112. It may be a little big for my application, but I wanted to be sure it would be enough. Thanks for all the help.
