After 7 years, my original 4120 battery has died

Our 2005 4120 is on the oem battery as well. I'm sure one of these days soon it will bite the dust.

I am a big fan of Interstate batteries myself.

7 years is pretty good for a deere battery.

Not a lot of LA battery manufacturers in the country. Most brands are made by a handful of companies. Brand wise, a specific battery may be made by a different co depending upon where in the country you live. With the cost of transportation today you don't want to pay for shipping for great distances.

Johnson Controls is the largest LA battery mfgr. Last time I checked, they made batteries for both Interstate and Sears. There is a Johnson Controls plant not far away and it is not hard to find JC's name on many brands of batteries available locally. Typ you can find a small tag on a battery saying how actually made the item.

Just replace 22nf in my 2520 with an interstate
the original (2008) had a dead cell
interstate had it on the shelf

What did you do to get 10 years of use out of it? Do you keep a trickle charger on it when not in use?

Sorry so long to response man. I never used a battery tender. I ran the tractor at least 2 to 3 times a week for short little trips cleaningthe yard during the winter and plowed snow. I never had the battery sitting. I suppose that may be why it lasted so long. Even in its dying days I got a couple months more out of it. It was slow to turn the engine over but with the choke on, it fired up pretty quick
