I did a thorough search of after-market filters the first time I went through my tractor. While I did get an after-market filter at NAPA, it was actually more expensive than the factor Kubota filter. I've found that all of the after-market filters I've found, at least the engine oil and hydraulic fluid filters, are NOT significantly less expensive than Kubota brand. I also recommend getting factory filters from someone like tractorsmart.

Ive always preferred the factory filter WHEN AVAILABLE...but I always cross reference factory filters with every brand on the market too....that way if I need some sort of filter..like RIGHT NOW...I know that I can buy a "X" brand and be back working.

I keep an extra filter. I hate having to use a substitute filter when I need one quickly. So much easier to be one ahead all the time. Also, filters are cheaper 6 months before you need one /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
