After a year of research and dreaming of a new tractor I ordered a 3320 with a CX FEL and a box scraper Saturday morning. The dealer gave me a price I couldn't refuse and the 1.9% for 60mo made a Deere affordable which I thought I would never be able to do. It will be 2 weeks before it gets here.

I assumed a used non-green tractor was the way I had to go.

Man am I excited. No more borrowing tractors when I need a FEL!

Anyone need a nice 8N? I am stepping up a bit :)

Hey,
Congratulations. That's a nice tractor.
I'm jealous!

Congratulations and welcome to the green side.

During the wait, read the owners manual, it's on line if you don't have the paper copy yet.

And read how to use the float on the 300CX:
300CX float
It's not in the manual.

Wow nice rig! If float on a 3320 is the same as on my 2320 it allows the bucket to follow the contour of the ground. Very helpful when you want to remove snow but no gravel from a driveway. I also use it when I shape new areas of lawn.

You engage it by giving the bucket control a quick snap downward when the bucket is almost on the ground. You will feel the control snap into place. What counts is the quickness; you don't have to force the control down at all.

The motion does take a little bit of practice but float is pretty useful.

Cross Implement in Minier. I have bought from them in the past and they are great.

Good choice! We are into our 3rd winter with the 3320 and it has been a fine machine. After a lot of looking at blue and orange, we went up to a green dealer. I drove a 3320 shutle shift around the lot and then got on a ehydro. Slick machine so I finally got the wife to drive it around. Big smile! She then said that I bought that machine, she would pay half. Talk about an easy decision.

The "float" thing: On a snowplow when you drop the plow, it can float up and down as the terrain changes. With a FEL when you push the joystick forward the bucket is forced down and in fact you can lift the front wheels off the ground with the down pressure. When you release the joystick the bucket is held in place. Not good for snow plowing or grading gravel. Now push the joystick far forward and it will snap into place in a float mode. It will stay there until you snap it back out. The bucket will slowly fall to the ground and is free to move up and down as you move over changing terrain. Just like a snow plow.

Have fun!
