That's true too. It's become a catch all term.

Of concern for me is when one uses people and their biases, that provide the initial framework for smart systems. An example, I have a camera that recognizes if a vehicle, pet, person etc is in the frame. All of the initial information was provided by people saying what was in the frame.

Most of the programs/systems that are called AI really aren't but they still call them AI...This includes programs that write term papers etc...they really just use algorithms with user input variable values...they (the systems) don't really "learn" anything...!

Once AI is fully integrated in to robo calling and web posting, we're going to have no idea of who we are talking to or reading from. This I believe, is the deepest issue with AI. You could get a call or post from a friend. It sounds like them, or reads like them. It knows things the friend would know. Reacts the way a friend, you know would. But it is a scammer bot. This is going break the very fabric of trust in social groups. It will be an entirely new level of Identity Theft when these can pass the Turing Test with ease.
