Serviced my 06 L39 this weekend and noticed air bubbles in the hydraulic fluid. Does this indicate a problem?
Thanks from sunny Southern Utah.

Could be that you have air in the system that needs to be worked out. Remember to keep the oil topped off as the air is expelled.

I should have been more clear. The bubbles were in the fluid I drained out.

milky foam generally means water ...air bubbles would float to top and disappear quickly (like Champagne)...if the bubbles remain in suspension they sound like fluid and, if water, they might consolidate into larger bubbles.

It still could be that the oil level was low and air was mixed in. is there bubbles in oil now?

Was the fluid clear or milky? water will make it look milky.

Not sure where you are, If is was pretty cold the oil could be kinda think more like honey... and hold the Air bubbles in suspension for a short time
