I try to service all my equipment in the spring, whether it need it or not. If it needs it during the year I do it, but everything gets it in the spring. Oil change, all filter change, fix the minor stuff, make sure everything is clean and greased. I don't put that many hours on any one thing, usually 50-100 on each tractor. So this week was that time. Ordered filters from Messeck's so they would be right. Started on the BX, engine oil, no problem, air, no problem, when I pulled the Hydraulic filter the fluid was milky (been too long since the last change) so trip to town for more fluid. And the Hydraulic oil is a pain to refill. It has 2 fuel filters, not hard to change, a little challenge to get it primed. Took somewhat longer than I was expecting--of course--. The L3600 was fairly easy, engine oil filter easy, easy to drain, PITA to refill engine oil. Hydraulic filter easy, fuel filter easy except the fuel shutoff for the bowl didn't work, probably only lost a quart or so down my sleeve. Then the air filter was not the correct one, seems there are more than one listed for the L3600GST, so trip to NAPA, but was able to get a new fan belt, so not a total pain. So both tractors were washed, serviced, and running good, except the L was idling too fast. After looking-with a flashlight in the bright sun- I found a half eaten walnut left from a squirrel. The joys of equipment. Now for all the small engines. The way I found to add oil or hydraulic fluid to the hard to access fill ports is something similar to this.
