air cleaner filter for 2015

I am in the process of my 50 hr service, i have bought and installed the oil, hydraulic and diesel filters, but the air filter i purchased from napa using a cross reference for wix filters(46387) is no way near the original filter. Lubner
filters shows the number(LAF8620) NAPA says this number cross references to the above WIX #. Anybody out there no of the correct part number for a napa filter for the 2015?

I don't have a good X-ref, but why did you need to change it at 50 hours? I didn't think that was called for in the manual.

I did a lot of work under dusty conditions and it showed a lot of dust in the filter and since I was replacing the others, I decided to give it a fresh breath.

Diesel Power, thanks for the reply, this looks to be the same as the NAPA filter, but unfortunately it will not fit the 2015 canister, the filter that is in the tractor now is a one piece paper filter. I sure would hate to have to pay my local dealer $82.29 but unless i can come up with another option, I will have to do that. As simple as this filter is i am sure some manufacturer out there has it at a much lower price..

At 50 hours, I'd give it a blast of compressed air and shake it out. I've heard some recommend not using compressed air on air filters but, I've done it for some time now with no detrimental effects.

This may seem like a dumb question but where did you get the original filter number from? Did you get it out of the owners manual or off of the filter that is in your tractor now? If you got it out of the manual it could be that they had a mid year model change, changed to a different filter housing (which uses the above pictured filter) and never changed the owners manuals to show what it really takes. Check the number on the correct filter you have now and see if it's different. Wouldn't be the first time I have seen something printed wrong.

Have you checked out the baldwinfilters.com website - they show a cross to their PA3664-fn and they show the specs and the OE part numbers.

Baldwin is pretty good quality. We have a dealer in our area and they seem to be price competitive.

The Baldwin PA3664-FN crosses directly with the Napa 6387 and the Fleetquard AF4502K.
Crackercap claims these Napa and Fleetquard filters #'s are incorrect. So the Baldwin # would also be incorrect..

Your tractor model is the same as the Cub Cadet 7205 which I have. I also have gone through various sources trying to find a secondary supplier for filters.

is to a site that handles Cub parts for my tractor model and I believe it shows the newer model filter that you have on your 2015. The earlier Cubs have the canister type show in the pic in an earlier post. The part number it shows is MA-35460501800 and the price is $57.24.

BTW my manual specifically states.."(a)void over services the air filter element. The filter element should be removed for cleaning only when restriction causes a power loss." Since manuals usually want to err on the safe side I take this advice to heart and only use the dump valve for routine cleaning.

DK35Vince, thanks for the comeback, the only # I found on the air filter is
5021G, the filter measures 7" long and 3 1/4# in diameter, it is a paper core
filter with sponge on each end. that's all I can tell you.

Just food for thought:

As a current Mahindra 2015 owner, I too have found after market replacement filters for everything but the air filter. I finally broke down and purchased a replacement from the dealer. It has a part number on the box from Mitsubishi "3546 0501800" which by the way is also a simular part number for the air filter for a Cub 7205 with a Mitsubishi diesel engine "MA-35460501800". Of course, you can't find an after market filter for the Cub either!
