I would put a new receiver dryer on the system and pull a hard vacuum on it - overnight if necessary - to be sure no moisture is making it's way into the system. I would recharge it and run it. Your dryer may be loaded already as the desicant in the felt is there to absorb a small amount of moisture but if you leave the system open for any time, you just loaded the dryer and it is not effective. My guess is there is still a bit of moisture that will ice / partially ice the expansion valve and shut the system down via the HP switch. The system warms a bit - evn when not functioning, the blocaking ice melts some and the system cools a bit but not good and cold. Been down this road before.
