Well, the saga continues...
I installed a check valve the way the dealer said.
Filled the tank with fuel and used the tractor last weekend without any problems. I ran it quite hard without a glitch. It was around 60 degrees outside.
This afternoon I went out to start the machine. The tank was full and the battery fully charged. (always have it on an automatic trickle charger.)
No luck. It acts as if it is not getting fuel. I opened the fuel lines on top of the engine to bleed any air and there wasn't fuel.
Out of frustration, I called my friend who was a certified deere and kubota mechanic. He came over and feels the fuel system is fine. Actually I put the check valve on the return line! (the one between the fuel tank and the filter as my dealer recommended.) We switched it over and pulled the rod from the fuel tank. There is a small screen and it is clean. The rod in the tank looks fine as well.
He feels the problem is electrical, either a bad relay of the fuel shut off solenoid.
I already changed the relay today and I probably will replace the solenoid.
Any thoughts??
Once we got it started it ran great and strong without burping.
