air intake pre-cleaner

Here are a few pictures. one adder I did have to cut the corner of the dump bed. used a 3" hole saw and got a nice round cut. put some molding on it to protect. enjoy.

Nice. I do a lot of mowing with my 5610 and have been thinking about a pre-cleaner for it. I really dislike the factory pre-cleaner coming out and going up the side of the cab. I've thought about doing something similar and going up the back corner of the cab just right of my rear work light. It would require notching a hole in the top of my rear hood and maybe moving the hood handle on that side. You've given me some ideas.

was really not that tough. have no clue why some of the old threads show bobcat taking 4 hours to install. don't think it took me that long from scratch. next is a headache rack for the bed. would not enjoy paying for a new rear window.

Here is another idea for your pre-cleaner.

This is the V417 air intake on the hood:

With the hood open:

This is the Toolcat 5610 air intake louvers on the left side above the battery:

The idea would be to put the two piece air intake into the the storage well in the 5610 hood. :thumbsup:

Thanks for the eXtra info X. If I'm doing a bunch of mowing in dusty conditions, it might be worth getting one of these. By the looks of it, I'm just worried a branch will take it right off or bend those brackets. I just wonder how tough it is. I do know I'll be busy trimming up the trees because this is taller than the Boomer was.

If anyone wants to build their own pre-cleaner like craneman using 2.5in pipe you can buy the bobcat pre cleaner (Donaldson H001251) for $42 shipped: Donaldson - H1251 – Donaldson Filters
