Im a full time truck mechanic. I have to air up the tires on almost everything I pull in at my new job. I was wondering if it would work if I hooked up a regulator and could adjust it as needed. For example drive/ trailer tires need to be aired up to 100 psi. What if I installed a regulator inline and had it adjusted to 110 psi? That way the max the tire could inflate to would be 105 psi or so. I don't mind airing up tires but our shop air pressure is 150 to 165 psi, if your waiting for the tire to air up its not hard to over inflate the tire.
In theory the regulator would work, but would it really work? This way I could do other things at the same time. Yes I do have an inflation gauge attached to an air chuck, but this is only ok for one or two tires. If all the tires are low I have to stand there and hold the lever, as compared to hooking the air chuck to the tire, giving the tire one minute to 1.5 minutes and checking the tire pressure again. Thanks
