Gap in spacer strip is for the weld bead inside the pipe. Welded up fine. A good welder could have welded without the need to grind. I’m not that welder. Have a good rounded shoulder.

Heavy duty and heavy. Collapsed my woodworking roller stand while installed pipe. Had to use tractor to pick it back up. Ordered a second pipe stand.

Thinking now 4 plug welds around the middle to tie the two tubes together will be plenty if even needed.

Those nicely rounded ends will not tear up your grass like the factory ones do.

Decided to add four, 1/2” plug welds around the center to further tie the two tubes together. Super heavy duty. Because of the corrosion and nearly 30sqft of internal surface area, injected about a quart of Rotella engine oil into the roller before sealing the last weld. Should be ample to eventually cover all surfaces. Good use of an old turkey injector syringe. Ready reinstall!
