Next year will mark 40 yrs of wedded bliss. (my wife loves when I put it like that :p ) For a special trip, we are thinking Alaska again. We went there a number of yrs ago and loved it. 2 nights in Fairbanks, 2 inside Denali NP, 3 in Anchorage. Rode the train from Fairbanks/Denali/Anchorage. From Anchorage, we took a day trip for a glacier cruise on Prince William Sound and a day trip driving to Seward and back. We plan to stay inside Denali again for a few days. I think I would also like to stay several days somewhere on the Kenai peninsula. Anyone ever stayed in that area? Hotels/motels are OK, rustic lodges are better, cabins along a lake or river even better.

Dolphin Charters

We have gone with these guys before. To say the least, AWESOME!

This is not our web page, but a friend who was also on our 2001 trip Betty is one of our photography friends. My wife and I have similar pictures(we were all on the same boat...). That's me out Kayaking. Look at the whale pictures. At home, I have a humpback in full breach, totally out of the water, framed up.

Dolphin Charters offers a number of types of tours. I would definitely like to go on another trip. Capt. Ron and crew are excellent naturalist and photographers.

Two of my neices recently took a cruise from Seattle to Alaska which is something that I have wanted to do for several years. They loved it but had a bad experience. I wont name the cruise line because I don't remember it but on the first night everyone onboard HAD to attend a meeting with the captain for emergency instructions. During the meeting a majority of the passengers rooms were entered and cash and jewelry stolen. The captain and cruise line refused to do anything about it, claiming no responsibility for valuables not locked in their safe. Just a word of caution...

I don't like to point fingers and label groups of people because I am sure most people who work for cruise lines are honorable people. But there are crooks in every profession. Except Washington DC where everyone is crooked.

I was thinking about the Alaska Marine Highway which is a ferry service not a cruise ship.
