I am intrigued by your mention of wind powered "bubblers" and would like to see one. Is that a pipe below the surface, blowing up bubbles of air ?

I've seen those also. Have always wondered how well they would work.

I've heard guys praise systems like this. Easy Pro 1/2 HP Rocking Piston Aeration System

It uses a continuous air pump and runs off electricity. If you go to digging on the web then you can find other manufacturers. Sometimes it's hard because the web want to give you results for the little fish pond on the back deck. Not one that hold 3 million gallons of water in the back 40.

I've looked at them just haven't bought one yet. Maybe in my future for the next couple of years.

If you get one. Get the weighted air line. It's self sinking. You don't have to try to tie on bricks. Some companies will use areal maps and photos to design a system also. You just have to provide depth of pond. The defusers work better the deeper they go.

Very nice thread, found this a few weeks ago and got to about page 15... Yesterday I had a little too much fun fishing in my own pond..



So I'm taking it easy this morning and finished reading it... Man thats some nasty stuff. Would copper sulfate work? It does good with algae and the like.
