All copper ground clamp

No I am not mistaken. There are pure copper clamps made!

The reason to use pure copper; best conductor of electricity only second to gold.

You don't want to offer any places to find these then don't bother replying...

Lenco calls the material that their clamps are made of "High Copper Alloy". Whatever % that is.. 90???

100% copper would be too soft to be durable IMHO. I have yet to see one thats 100% cu. The Lenco's and Tweeco's are pretty well the industry standard. THey hold up well and could double as a hammer if necessary ;)

Thought I could be a miserable SOB! My friends who have been welding since they were probably in diapers would likely have a good laugh at your copper ground clamp request. If you do all the figuring of the given circuits materials and resistances, I'm almost certain THAT (There I go yelling again!) would make as good as no difference what so ever. Hope you find what you are looking for. Have a nice day.
Thanks you also!

Interesting.

Looks redder, maybe more copper than the Lenco. Its looks like a clone, likely offshore. I think Ive seen Weld500 branded products at Princess, might speak to their quality or origin.

I dont think youre making a mistake getting a Lenco or Tweco. Only decision left to make is what style to get.

Or

I prefer the first style for its wider, more aggressive pads.

Alerco style clamps are the HD hand exercisers. I don't think there's a big difference between copper, brass and bronze when it comes to ground clamps. If you have a good ground, you won't have problems. If you don't have a good ground you'll have problems. It's not rocket science unless you get into high amps where arc blow could be a problem. Then the ground clamp isn't the cause of the problem. A strong spring isn't a bad thing.

Did you find any pure copper ground clamps, or did they all turn out to be copper alloy-bronze-brass like we told you?

McMaster-Carr
McMaster lists some at 98% copper. Probably tweco of Lenco Hi-Copper clamps.
Tweco Copper Ground Clamp - 300 Amp GC 300
500AMP COPPER WELDING GROUND CLAMP - Amazon.com
There are some negative reviews on the Twecos complaining about the high spring rate so they might double as grip exercisers.
That Amazon listing is mis-labled, it isn't copper, it is a copper alloy of brass or bronze alloy just like ALL of the other welding clamps and electrode holders. PURE Copper is too soft to use for anything other than welding leads.

If you're that much of a purist just buy an ounce of silver (about 1"x2"x3/32") for $25, silver-solder it to the end of your cable, and clamp it using an F-style clamp. Add some gold plating to prevent tarnish.

I personally have had good service with my steel clamps that do have pure copper jaws connected by copper braid. Hitting the workpiece with the grinder before you install the ground is more important than what style of ground clamp you use.
