Check Juno and NetZero. They're nationwide and at $9.95 a month, you can aleways use their 800 number (extra charge) if you are in an area that they don't cover. However, I bet their coverage is as good as earthlink.

Don't throw away AOL CD's...They make excellent targets.

When I had Juno, they would knock me off line if I wasn't useing it for a couple of minutes. I didn't like that, to me it made them almost as bad a aol. I have 2 numbers here for intergate.com and the last I knew we didn't have any for Juno here anymore. Juno don't have them everywhere, after they merged with Netzero.

I do agree with them knocking you off. That is the one thing I hate about them. If you are downloading a long file and you don't do something you can never get it done as they keep knocking you off.

I also recall getting disconnected with Juno. But it was only when I was "idle". If I was downloading or switching sites, I was good to go.

That disconect is the reason I like my intergate, no disconect, even if idle for a while. And for the same price, well I pay by the year so it cheaper, I'll stay with it. I tryed the free ones when there was a lot of them, and some wasn't too bad. But this one is better than any other one I have tryed. I had a local one that was good, but it kept going up about a $1.00 every 6 months or so. When they got to $18.00 a month I tryed one, and it wasn't too good, then this one. I believe I'll be here a long time. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: ISP alternatives

I want to Thank you. We have somewhat of a monopoly here in town on the phone service and we've never been able to get AOL, MSN, or any of the other national ones here in town other than Bright.net through the phone company. I'm on core.com now, but I went looking at the Intergate because it seemed interesting, low and behold they have a number for us. I didn't recognize the number as local so I call it and got the modem. I then called the phone company and it is a local number. As soon as the wife finishes school the 12th of Sept. we'll be switching. $99 a year sounds a whole lot better than $59.95 for 3 months. Again thanks, amazing what you can learn at a tractor place.
