Jeepinator,

Well I probabaly shouldn't talk about the TC on this section of the forum.

I hope Deere and others come up with something like it, so consumers have some choices.

A lot of time I see companies and people just plodding along doing the same old thing. You know people change and their needs change.

I see a lot of sentiment on here about keeping things simple, but life is not simple I don't have a problem with things and tools that make my life better, without being a PITA.

( jeffinsgf, thanks for taking the time to explain that to me. I called the dealer and asked him about pricing for the hydraulic toplink. He said that it would be quite expensive to add /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
I asked why and he qualified by stating that it could be done cheaper through custom work (having someone make me what I needed and just buying the components (piston, etc)), but the JD parts to do it are in the thousands ($). And he mentioned that the solution involves using the mid SCV and ports? I am hoping he is wrong, yet I am hoping he is right because it sounds like a really handy feature but I don't want to think he doesn't know what he is talking about, if you know what I mean. Either way, it is amazing how helpful you and others have been. I really appreciate it!

All you need from Deere is the 3rd SCV with rear ports. That is not a particularly expensive option. Then get the hydraulic toplink from CCM - a TBN advertiser/sponsor/supporter. Do a search on the forum for "hydrualic toplink" and you'll find more info than you can digest. Your salesman is right that the Deere "top and tilt" kit is outrageously expensive -- I know, I almost got it for mine. Hydraulic tilt (the angling of the implement from right to left) is not important enough - TO ME - to justify the expense of a fourth SCV and another cylinder, but I wouldn't be without my hydraulic toplink.

( Finally, do you think a tiller will do me any good for the stuff I have mentioned so far? Seems expensive at about $2500 for the 665. But if I need it, hey, more toys! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Thanks again! )

Again, third party might be the answer. There are extremely high quality tillers on the market for less than the Deere. There are also several Deere models that would fit your tractor. I think the 665 is the biggest baddest option. Something in the middle might suit your needs. A tiller would help in your yard project. It is one of the few implements that I don't currently have that I lust after. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I think I finally get it: The attachement mechanisms are not proprietary. Another one from the "duh!" dept.

FWIW, I was quoted almost eactly $2,000 for the Top and Tilt kit + Electric diverter hydraulic kit. Seems like entirely too much, so I'll check out the options...
Unless it has uses beyond the box blade? Would I gain anything with the Top and Tilt when using the brush cutter or tiller or harley rake?

hilld, I got a second quote for the same setup today from Tim at Stark Street in Sherwood. Roughly the same price as previous quote (about 1% less). Tim was helpful and had good advice.

I better stock up tomorrow for the holidays, it could be a long weekend of sitting it out.

I only got about an hour on it before it got dark. And I had never driven a tractor before /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
...so it was FUN.
I was able to get one pile of stump grinding moved and I tilled over the pile. And then I took some pics before it got too dark.

Since ya'll are a bunch of pic ******, I have some ready for you:
