The wall is actually curved toward the short end to allow more clearance from the pool fence. You're right about keeping the wall plumb. These type walls usually go up at a 12 degree angle and it can be a challenge to keep it right. That's why I hired it out and supervised the work /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

CHEATER!!! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

We relandscaped an area this summer (I should say we are STILL doing it) that is about 140' by 60', it included building a semi-circle block retaining wall. I built the wall, subcontracted the pouring of the patio that was built above the wall. It would have been easier if I had done the concrete work and let someone else build the wall. After I got it 3/4 done, the lovely Mrs_Bob asked me to move it about 8" /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I agree...pouring concrete is easier than wall building. This is something you can do yourself. Lots of guys here on TBN could tackle this, no sweat. These guys were done in about 10 hours. It would have taken me a few weekends to get through the learning curve and get finished. I supervise folks for a living, so I decided to do what I'm good at and let the guys do what they're good at and finished with a nice end product /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif Plus, Mrs. Citygirlfarmer loves it and I didn't have to move it 8" /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
