The hand clutch (transmission clutch) on my WD is breathing its last. It started slipping a little last spring, we took all the shims out and it helped for a little while, but now it's slipping again, and getting worse. It slips bad now even starting out with no load in 3rd or 4th gear. I know Allis is going to want a fortune for the clutch, and I was wondering if any of y'all know of a good aftermarket supplier. Antiquetractorsareus.com does not seem to have any clutches for the WD.
Also, should I replace the pressure plates and throwout bearing? When I had the clutch replaced in my old Chevelle many many years ago, we used the old pressure plates and the new clutch didn't last any time at all. I learned a lesson on that one.
Thanks for the help. I am okay with an engine but I have never messed with a clutch. But I believe there's only one way to learn how to work on something: get your hands dirty.
