Almost a bad oops

I have about 7 hours experience...I was recently brush hogging my fence row and the tractor suddenly stopped. I think what the hockey stick? Get to looking and discover that my FEL blade was pushing against a cable that was attached to the power pole coming into my place. I had the pole leaning about 2 feet and boy did it whip back and forth when I eased up on the cable.

That's my big whew!!! It could have been a shocking experience.

Yeah, I did that already. Made a turn with the FEL up high and it hit a small hardwood that went down.:D Impressive huh?

Curly, at least your tree went down. I also have the "day" job for now, and have limited seat time. I was working with my box blade, in the dark, I was turning around for another pass and hit this tree with my FEL:

Needless to say it didn't budge. I/we, the tractor and I came to an abrupt halt. Shoved my BRAND NEW FEL over about 4 inches on the mounting post :D

Not a biggie, like knocking down a pole barn, but give me time I'm just getting started. :D

I have a total of 17 hours on my new Kubota and have so far banged into smaller objects that gave way BUT it's only a matter of time. This past weekend I was reclaiming an old motocross track that had grown up and to make it worse had been built on a slope. Most of the weeds were 6' high with the occasional 2"- 3" trees and briars mixed in. I was using the FEL as a feeler to find the jumps and whoops areas and the shreader on the back. Amazing that as soon as you get "good" at the wheel, the front drops in a ground hog hole and the pucker factor sets in FAST. The FEL saves the day because the whole area the wheel went in just went away. Must have been a rather well to do hog having such a large abode. :p

I did not have many new "residents" this year, but the newbees definitely were from the "upper crust". They are one of the reasons I rotary cut slow and keep my FEL low. I did have two 's while mowing my lower field. Jay

Curly:
Does pushing in the corner of my tractor shed with the front-mounted snow thrower qualify me for club membership?
How about throwing a stone through the bedroom window with the bush hog.?
Glad you came through the adventure with no serious damage to you or your stuff.
