When I purchased my 2660 a year ago now, I too wanted a 54" mower. There was an availablility problem with the 54" and TR and LB59 as well as others posted comments which led me to the 60". It has functioned very well for my purposes for the reasons given and I'm glad I listened.
I bought locally as it was my first tractor, I'm currently not living on the property and I needed good tech support for my daughter who is running the machine. As rookie owners, I feel I got a fair price and am happy to have gotten to know some of the good folks at that dealership. They have helped a great deal
You sound like you've had experience with these types of machines. I too, spoke with Barlow's but the distance (CA) was to great. Mr Barlow returned my calls, was informative and a gentleman.
Perhaps it might be worth finding out the owners and sales mgrs email address and just detail your experience. Just be factual and direct and if anything will wake them up I think black and white will do it. If they don't want to deal you will know quickly enough. I own a business and I like to know when we do well, but I have to know when we do poorly. Good luck!
