Call me corny, but I miss Norm!! That was must see TV :)

So do I. But on the bright side, I no longer suffer so much from power-tool envy.;)

I'm not sure to the extent it airs in other parts of the country, but another great woodworking show is "The Woodwright's Shop," produced by UNC-TV. The host, Roy Underhill, is the anti-Norm -- he and his guests use muscle-powered tools exclusively. Online episodes are available here: Woodwright's Shop with Roy UnderHill | PBS

If you are interested, here are the coordinates of the Morash house, with the barn that was the New Yankee Workshop. The Victory Garden was filmed here, along with a cooking show featuring Morash's wife.

Be sure to read, understand and follow all the safety rules that come with your power tools. Knowing how to use your power tools properly will greatly reduce the risk of personal injury. And remember this. There is no other more important safety rule than to wear these ... safety glasses... Norm:)

I live in the next town. Never bumped into him but loved the show. Actually my favorite Norm episodes were from This Old House. He must have left that show about 20-25 years ago.

 I admit it has been a couple of years since I last watched TOH, but Norm was still a cast member then.

I remember spending every Sunday morning before church with my father watching The New Yankee Workshop. It's what steered me toward woodworking when i got older. Those were some good memories. I do miss that show. And yes he is still a member of This Old House.

Been reading since last October. Spent a lot of time in hospital with my wife, and you guys have provided tons of entertainment. I started out in trailer forum, but now I look at the "current" almost every day.

Here is what I have learned (from life and you guys).

Grease everything every time you use it. Tractors, trailers and implements.
Dc voltage- its always a bad ground.
Ac voltage- if you don't know don't do it.
Tractors- a little more hp than you think you need.
Trailers- just because it will haul it doesn't always mean you should.
Trucks- payments are bad.
Guns- bought not sold. This goes for tools also.
Shop doors are 12x12 minimum.

Well not quite a years worth of participation, but I hope to do better.

I'm not sure I have set profile up right. I will work on that and a profile pic as time permits.
Thank you all for helping me keep my sanity. Wife will be fine with prayers.
You and your wife are in my prayers.

Welcome to TBN.

Maybe I'm confused. He used to be the main carpenter but isn't these days. I don't think he is part of the roundtable discussion group either. Maybe he still has a role but i haven't seen him in quite a while. Plumber and landscaper are still original but the carpenter is different and is more of a general contractor type while Norm was more of a finish carpenter and furniture maker. They are on their third host now too.

You are thinking of Tom Silva, the contractor, who appears on both This Old House and Ask This Old House. I am not a regular watcher of Ask This Old House, but I've never seen Norm on that show.
