Ballast Almost flipped my brand new BX 2230...ballast?

I thinlk all that's needed is to remove the weight box.

I just bought a 2230 last month & have only used it once. I have the turf tires & had them extended & filled because of the slopes I have. The turf tires have made no imprint on my lawn. I was originally looking at the ZTR mowers but the dealer convinced me I needed 4 wheel drive for my slopes. He then demo'd a BX on the slopes behind the dealership. I was amazed at what that little tractor could do. I would never attempt slopes as steep, still, it shows what the tractor is capable of with an experienced operator. I would advise getting the tires filled & go easy until your used to the tractor.

The rear ballast could definitely be the problem. The BX is pretty stout machine and without extra weight and bars you should be able to climb without a problem. If this is something you'll be doing regularly, I'd just get some weights for the front or try loading the tires first. Seems you are just out of balance a bit. Nothing a bit of experimentation with weight won't fix. I think you found an excellent reason to purchase the FEL /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I don't think filling the front tires is recommended for loader work. Puts to much strain on the drive train and front axle.

 You should always go easy - Never just go blundering simply because you're used to something.
