I like it! Similar to my old pond scoop which can be pushed or pulled but I've always preferred to push it. Before getting an end loader I used it to move truck loads of dirt and sand. You'll get a lot of use out of it.

Back in the 70's, I had a neighbor that used to be the local plow guy and his old IH Farmall had a jury-rigged front bucket loader with the same catch to dump his load with a rope attached.......worked on the same principle and it worked for years for him.....after dumping, he'd just drop it to the ground to reset the bucket latch and off he went....

Yeah, I saw the pond scoops at Northern Tool. But I wasn't impressed with the appearance of them (they look cheaply built to me) and I figured I could build one that was more suitable for my needs, and cheaper
