How many of you ride your tractor just to ride it when you don't have a project going on that you need it for? Us new tractor owners probably do it more than the ones who have had tractors all their life. It sucks to see the tractor just sit when I don't have a reason to use it, so maybe just a couple of times I drove it just to drive it ;)

Well its gotta be bad for it to just sit there, so why not turn it over now an then.

Your just keeping it running nice :D

Guilty.

I've dug holes with my BH and refilled em with the FEL, just because I could.

I would never just drive the tractor for the sake of driving it. It is a tool, and anytime I drive it is for a job.
Now mind you, sometimes the job is very small and trivial, but its a job! I have to go, I need to go check the mail......

Also guilty. Sometimes I, too use it to get the mail....

Really, I think it's good to move the oil around once in a while.:D

I used to take long rides on my tractor just for the ride. After putting 1400 hours on my tractor butt the rides are much short now. I've also bought golf cart for the pleasure rides around the paths the tractor (Krusty) and I created. My wife enjoys the cart outings with me and the dogs jump on and off the cart as we cruise.

I'm guilty of doing a perimeter check every now and then--but I usually find some "work" to do so it doesn't count as a joyride!

My dad used to joke that I would go to the barn, start the tractor, let it warm up, then drive it the 280' to the mailbox. Total time to get the mail=20 minutes.:D

Once last summer, I came in from an evening's work and loaded the garbage into the FEL, very conspicuously, and drove it the 100' down the driveway. This is like, two bags that could've easily gone "by hand". The intent was to gte a rise out of the DDW. She get her arms crossed and that "you've got to be kidding me" look on her face, and I love it.

But she was watching TV upstairs, and despite me making plenty of noise to indicate what I was doing, she never even noticed!

I get plenty of joyrides, though. She hates "tractor turds" on the driveway, so after I finish whatever I'm doing, I run it up the road as fast as it will go to fling the dirt off the tires.

Guilty! :D but only as a "new" tractor owner so it doesnt count! ;) I find that 9 times out of 10 if I drive the tractor around, I too , usually find something to do anyways. But it saddens me that I usually see it to the end to get it completely done and I'm running out of things to do! (I might drive over to my neighbors just for fun :p- Who knows, I might find something to do there:D)

I find I use my Gator now more than the tractor to

When all you have is a tractor, everything looks like work.

When I was 8 or 9 and first started driving the tractor i was guilty of going for a ride now and then. Then I started to get assigned disking the fields after my dad plowed them and a few days of going from sun up to sun down will cure the urge to go for a ride real fast. I do admit the I that get a lot of pleasure from using my tractor on my hobby farm.

Tractors get in your blood, therapy is needed after that and seat time is it. You will find yourself doing things with a tractor just 'out of the blue':D I was born and raised around them, I don't know any different, But there is guys that were not and have same issues:D Can always find a use for a tractor. Its a tool.... use it!

my wife likes to take her dog for a ride every now and then. When we had our last batch of chickens she would take one of them for a ride too. I used to have a picture of it but lost it in a computer crash. For me it is hard to tell when I am playing or working with the tractor. Compared to the equipment I run at work I must be playing all the time.
