Haven't had the tractor home and in one piece long enough to do that, but does the backhoe I used to borrow count?

There are a couple of hundred acres undeveloped around me with the big power lines going through. I go scouting for fire wood on mine. Kinda neat finding old log trails, riding through the woods.

Between me and the neighbors, most of the dead standing wood is gone now.

If I see the neighbors working on a project outside, I might ride up/down to their house to help out. Sometimes the project might be drinking a beer or three:D.

I've certainly done that this year. With all the foul weather, once I got a good day, I'd start her up and let the engine warm up and drive down and back to get the mail. I don't like letting the tractor sit, especially after wet weather.

I've dug holes with my BH and refilled em with the FEL, just because I could.

I've done the same thing. After all, you have to keep your skills sharp! :D

Top Ten List why you just gotta use that tractor:
10) Why pick up a 50 pound bag of dog food when you've got a tractor?
9) I'm always making sure the hydraulic rams get their microthin coating of oil.
8) The grease needs to be turned over on those pins on the bucket.
7) Don't I need to circulate the oil? I thought it said to do that in the manual.
6) Two words: Trash Day!
5) You got to make sure those attachments still fit.
4) Just checking the DMLH (daily maximum lift height)
3) I didn't want my loaded tires to flat spot.
2) That mailbox is just too darn far!

And the number one reason:

1) If I don't bring it, I'm just going to end up having to walk back to get it.

When I talked to my wife about getting a tractor - I told her "I could take her for a ride on our big green tractor - we can go slow or we can go faster...". She gave me kind of a strange smile which I took to mean yes, and I went and bought one!

Sometimes it's easier the get forgiveness than permission.
