Also got smoke in my breather

: I haven't cleaned the breather but it's very clean inside and there are a lot of drips on the inside that taste sweet (Ethylene glycol?).

I noticed the smoke the first time, 2 weeks ago when i used it rather hard for 5-6 hrs/day for 5 days. At that time I filled up the radiator with 2 liters of coolant, and the next day one more liter (after 6-7 hrs of use). Haven't used it since then.

My dealer is picking it up next wednesday to examine it and find out what is wrong and do a free repair.

That in itself is unusual. Fortunately it appears you're covered under warranty. I'm looking forward to seeing what the problem turns out to be

Don, I am interested in what the dealer finds, too.

PS: be careful with that glycol taste testing! That could be deadly!!! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif I assume you ment that in smells sweet. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif FWIW, the fleet anti-freeze I use, doesn't have that characteristic glycol sweet smell.

I wouldn't worry too much about tasting Ethylene glycol. It takes quite a bit of it to kill a person.

It does cause genetic problems however.

Hi everyone

I vill tell you all what my dealer finds, he picked my tractor up last Thursday (june 8) so now it's just wait and see. I just taste with my tounge and then spit, i would never swallow ethylene glycol.

well everything was clean in the breather I did not notice the fine white smoke (no smell) until it was hot. then went away..
As I said before no loss of power or fluid in the radiator. I need to know how much torque Lb. To go on the 385 head bolts. I have the way you go on the head bolts an all but on John's site I couldn't find the pounds.
