alternative to position control

Does anybody use something other than pc to keep their 3pt hitch implement at a certain height? I was thinking about hanging a small chain or something from one of the lift arms.

Sure. They have a set-up for 9N-2N tractors that goes on the ends of the top link pin on the tractor. These plates are slotted so you can loop chains through them and down to the implements. Are you having a problem with your position control? They use them on the old Fords because they were only equipped with draft control.

The b7500 dosen't have pc and I found out that it would cost me over a grand to add it. The wife won't let me trade so I'll make some alternative. That's ok though, I'm very happy with tractor. Where do you find the set up for the 9n - 2n?

My '95 B7100 was delivered with such a chain (I assumed it was standard equipment from Kubota). If I remember right, the manual said to use it when "transporting" implements in the raised position, but I don't know any reason it couldn't have been used as you are thinking.

My '78 Kubota B6100 has a chain like that too. Like Bird's my owner's manual says to use it for transporting but I have used it with my rake as a "poor-man's position control".

I bought one last winter and installed it in a few minutes but then "misplaced" the instruction sheet so I had some difficulty with the adjustment. Zane emailed me back as soon as I asked him why I was having trouble and was very kind - did not tell me "there is no cure for stupidity" /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif a phrase I find myself using more and more - he simply suggested a couple of minor adjustments and it works like a dream now.
