There's a good chance a rebuilder could fix it cheaper than buying a new one. It's doubtful that much in an alternator except maybe the case is actually manufactured by Kubota. Maybe Kubota even cross-references it's parts by the original manufacturer part number. If not, a good rebuilder probably can find an OEM catalog reference for most anything beyond repair.

Anyway, it's probably worth getting a cost estimate from a rebuilder.

Tom, thats how I always do it. The local rebuilder here is so good, big clean shop and more then resonable prices. They rebuild most anything electrical for vehicles and are very reasonable. Plus I like keeping my original componet. Rat...

I use a local shop that rebuilds what you have. It costs less than new. And, compared to other rebuilds, you know where your "core" came from.

Otherwise, a GM one wire alternator is very popular to retrofit into other vehicles. I looked on my B8200 whe one of the long "dim kubota lighting" topics came out. It would be a tough fit to get it in the engine compartment. Could be done though... And, you could pick up a good 100A GM alternator for ~$70...
