Aluminum Utility Trailers

Happy with my Mission aluminum ATV trailer. Was cheap and is only 360 pounds empty, so it is perfect to pull with my small vehicles.

Ramp slides in to store from the back. And can be used to side or rear load. I use it for hauling pallets and building materials too so I can unload with my Kubota and forks.

I have had 2 Aluminum trailers- a 6x12 single axle and a 6.5x18 tandem. The first I had for 11 years and have had the tandem for 8 years. They both were Worthington brand, a manufacturer in Pa. about 100 miles from where I live. I have been very happy with both-no problems, visible corrosion, cracks, etc. I don't overload them, seldom use in winter, and wash now and then.
A friend has an Aluma, and I like it. If I was going to but another trailer, it would be a 20' 10k aluminum car hauler.

Not sure about this bit I have heard that aluminum can stress crack over time. Anyone know anything about this?

I doubt that I would ever carry anything heavier than the Kawasaki Mule!

It will if it being used for near max loads or used on really rough roads all the time, but I haven't seen it other wise...

I've pulled aluminum dump and flat bed semi trailers for 29 years and I don't find they crack any more often than steel. They all crack eventually with age.

They're fine for hauling stuff with wheels. They're not great for taking abuse. Then again an expanded metal flooring isn't very tough either. For your intended use aluminum sounds fine.
