Thanks RM.

Messicks is a godsend. Ive saved several of their breakdowns already. Got the parts and the deck installed, however im having cut issues. Frankly the cut is pretty bad.

The machine has lots of power (which is great) but the deck seems to be lacking suction. Im leaving pieces sticking up all over the place. I THINK it might be a setup issue, not sure though. So far, my old deere x540 was 10x the mower the BX is. Hopefully ill get it squared up and this first cut will be nothing but an anomaly.

Are you mowing at full throttle as the manual recommends?

ok, first thing first,, how is the blade installed? with wedge pointing down? did you level the deck before you mowed? leveling the deck will give you a great cut with engine rpms above 2800. manual says 3200rpms. how tall is thee grass before you tried cutting it?

Mowing at 3000. dont want to go to full throttle until the engine is a little more broken in. Currently at about 23h.

In fairness the grass was quite high, probably 6-8" in spots which is alot for a mulching deck. Im cutting at about 3.5". Yes the blades are on correct. that was the first thing i suspected.

I guess my issue is with lift. Seems like some of the grass flatttened by the front wheels isnt getting pulled up. This is particularly on the outside edges of the deck. Say the last 2" or so on each side. In the centre of the deck there appears to be lots of lift.

A member stepped up and has graciously offered me a scan of the manual. Hopefully once I have that i can give the level a final set. I just guistimated level and got it as close as i could. Part of the issue is i have nothing to go off that im sure is level (no concrete or pavement here)

Im going to give the BX the benefit of the doubt, but so far the Deere has it on quality of cut. I know (done it before) that the Deere could take the lawn from 8" to 3.5" with no stragglers. However the deere was not a mulching deck.
