I just wanted to say this because I really don't understand the logic. I called four dealers today to get a price on the dreaded 50 hr. service, check this out.
Dealer #1 $160 and four hrs. of my time to deliver and pick up. Plus $ 12 tolls and fuel for 90 mile round trip.

Dealer #2 $300 plus 2hrs. of my time delivery and pick up leave unit for one week to get it done. Plus $12 tolls.

Dealer #3 $260 45 min. delivery and pick up no tolls. Leave 2 days.

Dealer #4 $169 1/2 hr. total delivery and pick up time , no tolls, 3hr. turn around time. Plus deck cleaned and blades sharpened to boot.

Boy what a spread in price and service. Gee, wonder if dealer four is going to get my tractor for the first service? I can handle the service from then on.

Isn't it amazing the differences that exist?

Just out of curiousity, which, if any, of these dealers sold the tractor to you?

Bet dealer number 4 is trying to be the guy that gets the rest of the implement business and next tractor purchase!

I live near Middletown - where is dealer #4? I'm past 40 hours and will need the service soon. Thanks!

Just be sure (maybe you already are) that all the dealers are quoting both parts and labor. Couldn't help but wonder if dealer #4 was quoting labor only and not including the cost of filters and oils.

I did my own service on my B7500 and the materials alone came out to around $150.00 (including the two air filters which were about $50.00 alone). I gotta wonder if that quote includes Everything too.

Ok here it is, Dealer #1 sold me the tractor and they were very good to work with. Dealer #4 is Hoobers Inc. on Rt. 301 just outside Middletown. I would have bought from Hoobers since they are only 15 min away but they were quite abit more on purchase price. I gave them every opportunity to make sale and I wasn't spiltting hairs with them, they just don't make deals as some of the dealers do. I feel money in my pockets is as good as theirs. I do support local business but not when the diff. is as great as it was when I made the purchase. Mark

When I called my JD dealer about the 50 hour service on my 4300, he told me to save my money and do it myself. He told me everything they would do for the 50-hour, and said it's easy enough to do yourself.. and it was. I think I like these guys.

It may just be me but I can't see any reason why you would need to change air filters at 50 hours. I know it wouldn't hurt anything but I can't see it helping either.
