Yeah.....you'd think that would work, huh ? Nope. After a while on the phone, the lady's final suggestion was cancel my current Prime account with refund of remaining time and then try to sign up, OR contact them by email. I have sent an email, answering all the questions of verification, PLUS I scanned in my VA photo ID card and sent 'em that on Thursday. No response as of yet.
Funny thing is I switched accounts to my wife's account, she doesn't have Prime (we use mine to order most stuff ), and registering thru HER account got me to the page of paying for it.....so if I don't hear from Amazon by the 11th, we'll use hers to sign us up.....which makes no sense as I'm the vet, yet it will 'verify' on her account. Didn't do it because we'll have to re-set TV's and Kindles to accept the Prime in her name instead of mine.
Strange that you had to jump through hoops to get it all set up. All I did was to answer the 4 questions, i.e. Name, age, Veteran, and year discharged. Bingo - all done. Their system automatically transferred all of wife's settings to my account.
