American made chain and hooks

/ American made chain and hooks #11
Looking for American made grade 70 chain and hooks. Brands and sources. I have googled this a bit. One thread form here was 2007.

I did order a major brand, maybe Cambell, can't remember 1/4 G70, chinese. I am looking for 5/16 and 1/4, mostly. I use 1/4 on side by side.

I am doing this for selfish reasons, I work and live in America.

Below is site, that looks decent price. Never did business with. They USA made binder, does not say origin of hooks.
Grade 7 Binder Chain (USA) - from Tulsa Chain, Inc.

I live by Fleet Farms, I can get all the chinese hooks and chain I want, without shipping.

Thanks for help.
Hooks say USA. ... The current China hooks use a huge [7/16] clevis pin in the 5/16 GR70 hook. Apparently a cost cut but ridiculous since it causes problems with some chain.

I just purchased some chain from Tulsa Chain maybe 2 months ago. They were precut lengths with hooks. Chain was American but hooks were Chinese. They would supply American hooks if I wanted but we're about 4x the cost. I was pleased with my purchase.

Got my shipment from Tulsa. 20' of 1/4 g70. Love how light it is. I have been using 3/8 g43 for dragging logs. I like chain for dragging, straps have frayed on me.

I am not pulling anything big. I think I would lose traction before it breaks, I am in sandy area.

I decided to go with g70 for everyghing, just to make it easy. Not sure if the gold color will hold up over the years.

Need to order more choker hooks, they seem to be easiest.

Not sure where the hooks were made. They say the chain is American

We got a 1/4" choker setup from the Tulsa chain people. We wanted something light and small for storage to be used by a UTV. It was great until we were dragging tree's for a short distance down some pavement. After 7 years of use, we wore it out in just one day. Still have it, but in the shorter version :). The chain was higher grade, like G80. No, wearing it out on pavement wasn't Tulsa C fault and would buy from them again. I just assembled another this time from 5/16, G70 chain. These choker chains stay in the UTV and we won't go into the woods without them.

I got 1/4 g70 on my UTV for dragging brush, with a choker.

Only thing I do with tractor that concerns me little is pulling trees out. But again with the sand I think I would spin first.

I need to get my ROPS shortened maybe then I'll pit done expanded metal behind me.

choker chain in action

Here are three photos of our choker chain in action. About 80% of the tree's we cut, get hung-up on the way down.

None of these are large. We have spun the wheels, while the axles were locked.

Take a look at Aw Direct. They mainly sell chains for the towing industry. The ones I looked at were US made.

For those who might not know. This slip hook is made for safely choking, then dragging trees.

Where do you get yours, want to get a another. They are handy for hooking on everything.

Last time got them from these guys. $18 to ship one hook is silly. It doesn't weight much.
