About the same time the retail price of "claws" were $12-$15/pound...we could buy 8 oz. Australian Rock tails (imported fresh) for about $20.00...lately I have not seen them in the local markets...I'm not 'black catting' you Mate, but a Tassie Southern Rock Lobster (a non-clawed species) is going for A$110 a kilo!!!
Spring time I think best... before it gets hot and stinky!Oh yeah... just go off season, more enjoyable.
