This is a backdoor attempt to end private ownership of guns. Makes you wonder why some folks are so intent on disarming America.

So a criminal will buy (or steal) a bullet puller and scratch these off and reseat bullet. Its not about deterring the criminals, if it was, there would be more executions.

Very scary, not even communists had this.

I just wonder, if they are going to do it to hunting arrows next and maybe kitchen knives and roller pins and rocks in your garden.

No laughing matter at all.

This isn't anything to worry about. It isn't going to happen.

Just because a bill has been introduced by some legislator doesn't mean it is going to even come close to being enacted in law. Most get tossed early on. Idiotic legislation is introduced all the time, often to placate campaign donors. FWIW, they claim to have introduced the legislation in Tennessee, but a search of the Tennessee General Assembly's website for either "ammunition" or "accountability" returns zero hits. If they did get it introduced here, it's gone.

"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves money (generous gifts) from the public treasury. From that moment on the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most money from the public treasury, with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, (which is) always followed by a dictatorship."

"The average age of the world's greatest civilization has been two hundred years. These nations have progressed through this sequence.

From bondage to spiritual faith;
from spiritual faith to great courage;
from courage to liberty;
from liberty to abundance,
from abundance to selfishness;
from selfishness to complacency,
from complacency to apathy,
from apathy to dependency,
from dependence back into bondage."

I read through the PA legislation and some points/questions that I wonder:

1. What about people that reload ammo? Does this just put an end to that all together?
2. On or before January 1, 2010, an owner of ammunition for use in a regulated firearm that is not encoded by the manufacturer in accordance with section 301 shall dispose of the ammunition. - Give me a break. I had a box of ammo reloaded about 15 years ago.
3. It was interesting seeing who were the sponsoring members of this bill all democrats but one, and they were all from the Philadelphia and Pittsburgh area.

The good news is that it appears this bill never made it out of the judiciary committee here in PA.
