A good demo video of the differences between a semi-auto and a pump shotgun.

I'm not sure if I want to shoot slugs or not, at least now I know what to use, I suppose if I didn't have a 30/30 I would use them for deer hunting, but I might get one of IC chokes anyways. Does anyone shoot slugs and at what?

We use slugs on deer here. We cannot use buckshot on deer per state regulations on this side of the border. A slug will knock a really big hole thru both sides of a deer, that much I can tell you from experience. They leak out pretty quick.

Yes that is a nice looking shotgun, 12 isn't it? 150 yards that sounds impressive but is that a deer down distance, and the sore arm is the one reason I like 20ga. I can shoot that all day, but I'm thinking my 20ga. with slugs is only good for deer down at about 100ft.

I would bet you would be pretty safe to take one at 75 yards. I would not hesitate at that distance.

I've been checking out a few prices for tube wrench, about 8-$10, might try to make one, should only take me 8 hrs. to construct one, if I can find the right steel to use. Right now my tube is only finger nail tight, and gotta get my 20 ga. up to spec. just in case my weekend sleep-in, get's interrupted at 6:00 AM again by them cackling croaking blowking crows.

Tighten just until snug, and use a lube. When the barrel is cleaned remove the choke tube and clean and lube it again. Never leave the choke tube in forever thru many cleanings. It can become unitized...uh.. not a good thing. Remember the threads are small and the choke tube itself is kinda thin. I ain't saying you have to use the lube below, but DONT use WD-40. the tube below will probably last you for many years..Remember less is more.

Breech plug grease or never seize.

8 hours for a flat notch engaging wrench? I hope you meant 8 minutes! :)

I think a field expedient one could be whipped up in about that long, give or take 3 minutes :)
