Amsoil 20W50 hydrostatic transmission fluid in Cub Cadet gt 2544 tranny?

Will Amsoil 20W50 hydrostatic fluid work in the transmission of the 2500 series?

Bet it's a whole lot heavier than what is there. Typically many transmission oils are only 10 to 20w.

Once put gear oil in the transmission of our car, as either it or ATF was allowed back then (1965). Thing could hardly be shifted. Removed the gear oil and put ATF in.

Yes you can. I have been using Walmart branded 20-50 in my Gt2542 ever since I first changed it around 150 hours. It is now over 1000 hours and hydro seems as good as new. I don't know if information is still there but when I decided to change my fluid even though operators manual didn't say to, I found info on Hydro Gear site that said to use 20-50 conventional or syn. I have changed mine with conventional around every 100 hours.

When I changed the fluid in my lawn mower (JD110) the recommended fill was 20W-50 synthetic.

What do I use in my vehicles - whatever the OM recommends.

We have used 15w40 for a lot of applications, I would think it will be fine.

After doing further research (and reading the bdu and 15/70 series manuals and specs). You can infact use 20w50 in the bdu10l and bdu21l incase anyone wanted to use the amsoil 20w50 hydrostatic fluid.
