Amsoil 5w30 for kubota bx2660

One thing that I like about the 10w30/30w Amsoil ACD offering is that it is a straight 30w oil that doesn't use any viscosity improvers, but it has a low enough pour point that it qualifies as a 10w30. This oil would have a lot less possibility of shearing and losing viscosity under extreme use. Primarily for that reason, I would probably pick it over the Series 3000 5w30, and that also the ACD is about $5 a gallon cheaper than the 3000. At preferred pricing... ACD $27.75 and 3000 $33.70.

As for the CJ-4 thing, it is indeed backward compatible and has been around long enough to show that it is a very good spec in it's own right. I would have no problem putting a CJ-4 spec oil in an older diesel. Take for instance, the factory rebuilt Detroit Series 60 in my current semi truck. That engine was built in the late 1990's, and it gets fed a CJ-4 Schaeffer Oil. The used oil samples look stellar. And a lot of heavy diesel OEM's extended drain interval recommendations when the CJ-4 spec came along. They must know something that it is a decent spec.

Amsoil Series 3000 5W-30 has been in my BX2660 since the 50 hour oil change. Some snowblower use, but more mowing in the summer.

I change once a year, before the snowblower goes on but after the mower has been removed.

I also run the amsoil 5-30. I sometimes even go a little more than a year but as a rule change it once a year.
