JD has "wet" brakes; and according to all the JD shops i have talked to, if you don't use their hyd fluid/oil in the transmission, the break pads will come apart?? i've had this happen to one tractor, i'm not saying it was because of the wrong hyd fluid; but its quite expensive, since that also stops up the screen and filters in the hyd system; i'm considering changing to the amsoil equal of JD's hyd fluid, but don't have a clue which one that is..anyone have an amsoil number??

Heehaw, I put (ISO 46, SAE 30) ATH-05 (5 gal pail) the ATH 30 is (30 gal drum) & ATH-55 is (55 gal drum) they do not package it in qts. for JD 2 5 gal pails will be more than enough. It will not damage the wet brake linings in any way. Any more questions be sure to ask. Good Luck gary

Amsoil passes the John Deere specification (J20C, J20D, J14C). Also drops brake chatter by approx 50%. It should drop temps a bit also. Hence, it is okay to use! Works better for me in the winters! If you need any at a dealer price just ask. That goes for anyone. Hay, I like the stuff a lot and the best thing I like is there oil. It does not turn black right after you install it in the motor! Over ten hours on oil & it is still 98% clean.

Burnickas, how do I get the ATH oil at dealer cost? I will be changing my trans fluid soon to Amsoil and the cost is a little disturbing. I live in NJ. Thanks, Rich.

Rich,
I became a dealer so I could get the stuff cheaper. I also help other people/friends get the same dealer price. Yes the price is some what high. If you want the Amsoil Synthetic Tractor Hydraulic/Transmission Fluid, ISO 46, SAE 30 - (1) quart bottle retail is $5.05 or (1) case is retail $59.40. Again, these are retail prices. Dealer price is lower but I don’t want to post them since it could get some members angry. You could email me for the dealer price, call me for dealer price or you could call Amsoil and use my dealer number, your credit card and give them your shipping address and you will have the oil in about 3 to 5 days! The case is the best deal

Garya- If you are looking for Synthetic Tractor Hydraulic/Transmission Fluid, ISO 46, SAE 30 - (1) quart bottle
retail is $5.05 and the item number is ATH-QT.

** ATH-QT meets or exceeds John Deere JDQ-42 PTO Clutch (2000) Cycles - Pass, John Deere JDQ-40 Brake Capacity Test - Pass, John Deere JDQ-40 Brake Torque Variation (Chatter) - Pass, John Deere JDQ-73 Cold Soak @ -35°C - Pass, John Deere JDQ-74 Slow Cool @ -30°C - Pass, John Deere JDQ-74 Slow Cool @ -35°C - Pass

If you are looking for regular Synthetic Anti-Wear Hydraulic Oil (ISO 46), yes it only comes in 5-gallon bucket and 55-drum. Product number is AWI-05 or AWI-55.

Any other questions just post or email

GaryA --No problem about the help. If you ever have anyother problems/questions just ask me. They came out with the Tractor Hydraulic/Transmission Fluid in quarts back in Sept/Oct but they waited to "go public" with the New Year (don't ask). They only way you could order it was over the phone.

RJA -If you think dealers get good prices you should see what the commerical people get! Anyone could start a commerical account all you need is a tax number and the only draw back is that you have to buy all products in cases or larger. **I am not promoting this because you will have a garage full of product. :)
