Amsoil HD 5W40?

I personally use the 15W-40 in mine. It costs a little less and I don't plan on using my tractor when it is cold enough to need 5. Haven't come across a piece of equipment yet that hasn't performed better with AMSOIL.
If you aren't already assigned to another dealer and you want to try a case or more at wholesale pricing I will set you up as a preferred customer for free. Just send me a PM. I'll extend this offer to up to 5 TBN members per month.
I'd love to take you up on the offer. What info do you need to get signed up for Preferred.

I have at least two posts in this thread already. That's not stopping me from telling you guys that I ran out of Amsoil for the Honda, and of all things bought Supertech 5w20 full synthetic!!! And my car still runs. I ran that oil to about 13K miles.

But it was using oil a lot more than normal. Over that stretch I added two qrts (not bad really) which is not normal for that engine. Normally I go 10K miles and it takes about a qrt between changes.

Fact is: Amsoil is a good oil. It is not magic. But it is the best choice for me and darn convenient.

You could try 5w30 Amsoil and I’ll bet that the engine will use less oil. The same engine is used around the world and usually specify a heavier grade then here in North America ... Dutchy

I don't know if other countries have average mileage requirements the way North America does but I do know that a lighter oil is specified to help meet those requirements.

Yes that’s what it is, trying to meet mpg goals. I run 0w30 in all 3 of our Toyotas. No noticeable mpg loss. Actually impressed with the Rav4 mileage. Dutchy

And somebody said amsoil is cheaper????

I also noticed amsoil tests their premium
5w40 vs T6 not the full synthetic T6

amsoil cost $13.09 qt x 5 = $65.45 + filter
did not see a filter for my tractor on amsoil
so amsoil don't have a filter why use it?

T6 cost $25.00 5 qt filter cost $7.60
TOTAL COST $32.60

As T6 is full synthetic oil can run twice as
long or more as regular oil change and in
Europe they don't change oil 7,500 miles
more like 10 to 15K miles.

My opinion? If Amsoil HD 5W40 meets or exceeds the Specs. for your application, use it. Although Rotella T6 5W40 appears to be a quite popular among the forum members here, it is not the only good oil on the market.

I think the preference of Rotella T6 brand 5W40 synthetic oil has to do with price and the readily availability almost any where.
And it works
