I do not know what that means, synthetic oil. So many people use a group 3 and compare and contrast it to a group 4 and 5.

Still means nothing without knowing details etc. There are poor oils on the market that have low properties from the start.

I would use the their 15w-40 since it is cheaper and does the same job.

The bad part is that they "attach" you to the closest 'dealer', so you have to pay State sales taxes- something I don't agree with.

That was one part I hate; but, more and more people/ corporations are doing that.. It is hard to find sites online or ordering period that do NOT have tax.

Only a matter of time before everyone is getting taxed on any type of order.

I just put in an order for about 10 gallons of 15-40HDD syn. I joined the preferred customer "club" so I will get the discount. I don't know what, they determine it and notify me??

As far as sales tax, well ummm, no sales tax here in Oregon...While I am gloating about the sales tax, let me super-gloat about my federal and state taxes, I don't pay state or federal taxes on my retirement either. I don't have to file a single tax form again or even utter the horrible letters, I.R.S. again. (I know, I hate me too)

I retired because of a shoulder injury from a Fire Department at the age of 43. It only cost me a couple of operations and a stiff shoulder. I left the "People's Republic of California" and moved to OR where the people are normal.

I did that to try their hydraulic oil in my Kubota. Now I believe it's a good product, but I figure the oil was probably worth about half what I paid for it. The reason for the rest of the cost was the printing and postage costs they had for the volume of printed material they sent me for the next 3 years. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

In the whole grand scheme of life, does it REALLY matter?
I can go to Walmart and buy Rotella or Motorcraft for $1.42 a quart and my car will still last for 150,000 to 200,000 miles without really trying. What's the big deal? /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Nothing is a big deal. You do get what you pay for.

As you are also right but I have better things to do then go to Wal-mart, joy, and buy new oil every 3K, 5K or 7.5K miles. I use an oil that goes longer and protect the same, better in most cases, I will buy it.

Also I go by performance and added benefits not, “If I can buy it will my dvd’s, ammo and baby clothes.“

cowboydoc, you have alot of nerve. Here you are with a fleet of equipment, falure of which can cost you your livelyhood. You have chosen to do what the manufacture recomends instead of what some guy says who read it on the internet. I believe many of the engineers have PHD after their names. I have looked at the manual for my tractor, CD every 100 hrs. My PSD says CF every 7500 miles (5k severe). At those intervals I expect these motors to run after I have stopped.
