I have decided on Amsoil 10w40 30 horse Kubota.A local dealer stocks it 6.25qt. Would like to use year around in WI. Would like to know what you guys think. Also do you think Kubota oil filter would be okay.

I would think that the Kubota OEM filter designed for that tractor, provided by the manufacturer would be one of the best avenues for oil filters.

( I have no experience with amsoil.. )

I think the key issue is what weight oil does your Owner's Manual recommend for the temperatures you experience in WI?

Good choice, /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gifI like Amsoil, but it's a very touchy subject here.

I would use the Amsoil filter, but you could use the Kubota filter also, I'm sure it's a good one.

Mike it said 10w30 or 10w40 in regular oil. The reason I want to change is for better lubrication. The tractor did not want to start one day when was cold outside.Previously used Rotella 15w40 non synthetic. thanks.

Then the Amsoil you mentioned would be fine. I use Amsoil 5w-30 year round.

My pitch on Kubota oil filter is this. Unless you need an Amsoil oil filter why use it? You can use Kubota filter for along time per the manual so what does the Amsoil buy you? Save your money ($5 delta) and get a few coffees in the am hour!!

As far as the oil, Amsoil has a few diesel oils so go by price. I use there HDD&M 15w40 since I feel there 5-30 does not add value for the HUGE price difference.

I have been using Amsoil since 1994 and some things work great and others Amsoil is out there on, ie. Kubota oil filter prince is $4.95 and Amsoil is like $9. Are they kidding…..

I think Amsoil does this (offers filters, albeit expensive ones) is it allows people to buy everything they'll need from one source, Amsoil, instead of buying the oil from Amsoil, a filter from somewhere else, grease from another place, etc. To some, the convenience of having (almost) everything they'll need to service their tractor (car, truck, etc.) arrive in one box is worth it.
