Tractor
Shibaura SD2200 4X4
Ok here goes... I paid $6,400.00 for this tractor (Shibaura SD2200 -26 HP 2 cylinder diesel- 22 HP PTO - 4X4 with FEL plus $350.00 for a NEW 4 ft Box Scrape, and $200.00 for a 4 ft King Kutter Bush Hog, totalling $6950.00

These gentleman made this offer....

NEW TRACTOR made March 2005

This Tractor comes with Full Two Year Warrany on all mechanical and 1 Year Warranty on lights and electrical.

Johnson JT 2504 - 4X4- with FEL - 25 HP - 3 cylinder diesel - 20 HP PTO

Now this tractor has the same size front tires as the Shibaura 6.00 X 16

But the rear tires are 9.5 X 24 and the Shibaura has 11.2 X 24

I don't think that the narrower tire will perform as well. What do you think?

They were going to allow me $5,800.00 for the Shibaura

Johnson JT 2504 with 195 FEL by BUHLER or something like that, for $11,990.00 - $5,800.00 = $6,190.00

with a $6,190.00 difference for me to pay.

Maybe I am an idiot but I am actually considering this.

Here is a picture of a JT 2004 with FEL ... the same as JT 2504 except the HP is 26 HP on JT 2004 and 32 HP on the JT 2504

The picture shows both but JT 2504 doesn't have the FEL installed as of yet.

The JT 2004 is the one we "played" with outside and got it muddy.

""and 32 HP on the JT 2504"" quote from Jim57 i previous post.

( KW=1.36 HP and if the JT2504 is rated at 18.37 KW then 18.37 X's 1.36 = 24.98 HP which in fact supports another reply here under the Chinese Tractor Forum. )

Jim
Question: Do you think the JT2504 is 25HP, or 32 HP ??

Oops! I copied and pasted that. I failed to change that information. I do believe that it is a 25 HP however I am also aware that a diesel engine fuel can be turned up to get more power. That is dangerous and harmful to the engine. I have changed the post... Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

Until you confirm the horsepower, don't get out your checkbook. Easiest way to do that (on Chinese tractors that haven't been tampered with) is to look at the engine label. The engine type and output power (in KW) is stamped on the plate at the manufacturer. From there, just convert kilowatts to mechanical horsepower.

Do I have the correct formula to do that?

1.36 HP x's KW

Thanks

Thank you... looks like this tractor has even less HP :-(

Take the KW number that's stamped on the engine plate and multiply by 1.34, Jim. For example, a Y385 might say 18.37 KW. That comes out to 24.6 mechanical horsepower. As you would expect, they round the number up, thus the typical 25 horsepower rating.

Thank you. This will help me be more aware of the true HP and if these dealers are lying to me. The conversion had me stumped but now I can be educated.

Another question.... how do you convert kg to pounds?

Thanks Jim
