Nope, it wont work the same way. The stingray works because they can pretend to be the cell tower and they have the codes to say "Hello, I am a ATT tower" when your phone tries to connect.The cell tower spoof is creating a virtual tower electronically to do surveillance on cell traffic. You won't see a tower. No reason they couldn't do the same for wireless networks.
It wont work with wifi because your phone/tablet/laptop has to be configured to connect to a wireless network. If you haven't connected to the network before, your device wont automatically connect to a new network.
