DayDreamer:

Those sure are some radical designs in those drawings! If JD comes out with that, they will surely redefine the CUT! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Yeeehaaa ... 4720 or not ... that is an interesting concept, parts of which I've had in my mind for while.

My first question on that design however is:

What keeps the hoe-end (the one with the 2 smaller wheels) of this frontless/backless machine on the ground when that bucket is full?

I like those drawings ... A LOT. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Lastly, if in fact JD or other market share player introduces something that represents such a departure from their collective pasts, the DEBATE HERE on TBN will supercede any others, including transmission, brand/color, and politics, religion, and NRA. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I doubt that it is, it isn't the machine in the 4720 teaser pics...

My guess is the new design in those patent drawings will be yellow and called something like 95TLB. I am sure I am wrong...

Since John Deere isn’t supplying any details yet on the 4720, patent searches are a way to see what products companies may produce in the future. Follow this link:

US_Patent_Search

and type in “deere”. There are many patents listed for Deere and most do not relate to subcompact tractors, that I could find, except for the one posted.

The patent design shown has some merits. The steering is similar to a Husqvarna model “Rider 155” where the rear wheels move (see attachment). It would have a very tight turn radius and probably require a front mower attachment.

Hey All,
I went back to the dealer to visit my tractor again....delivery is finally Monday morning /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

anyway, the salesman just got back from a JD briefing out of state and he says.........

The new 4720 is 50 hp, not a Yanmar, but a John Deere Turbo charged motor.
Curved loader arms, and from a distance not a radical appearance difference.
Total units right now is 800 at the factory for worldwide distribution!
How many dealerships are there? I think there may be a short supply and a long demand!

That's all I was told.

I have to go now and get ready for two sleepless nights waiting for Monday morning!

I got some info on them as well;

There will be 4 models in the large chassis range - EHydro or power reverser available on all models. The 4720 (according to my dealer) is 50pto HP, around 58 engine HP - and all models will have JD turbo 4cyl engines. Somewhat increased lifting power for the FEL - but he doesn't have many details about that.

Two interesting notes - The curved loader design will fit older style Deere's as well - and the mid chassis will get similar treatment late fall to early winter probably coming out early next year.

That is very interesting. I know there have been some posts in the New Holland forums about putting the curved loader for the new Class II DA series Boomer on the old D series Boomer. This backwards compatibility for the Deere will be a big advantage.

What about the small chassis machines? Will they get the new design the same time or at a later date?

( There will be 4 models in the large chassis range )

That seems to put to rest the "3-Model" theory with there being only 1 model in each chassis range.

Of course it's all word of mouth - but my dealer is a very dependable guy. He paid me a visit after the shop closed to show me how to dis-mount the BH. When he delivered it in February it was stinkin cold out and neither of us wanted to go through it then.

He said that he's going to have a lot more info later in the week - I suspect everyone will by then.

He did sound very sure about the 4 models in the large chassis range - he cited a few more HP stats - but it's all a blur to me now.

The mid-chassis update seems farther out - I don't know if the date has been locked down yet - and there was no information from Matt about the small chassis models. He also stated some of the new model numbers - again a blur to me now - but they will generally be 4000, 3000 series and so on. No more 4310... /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

He didn't seem to think any of the updates were earth shaking - apparently much of the updates are aesthetic and a reaction to the market for curves /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif. But I am interested in hearing more about the JD motored models, if for no other reason than not having to hear that I'm really driving a "Green Yanmar" tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well guys if anyone else gets info post it - we'll have the whole puzzle put together in no time.

BTW - anyone else try to hit the Deere site tonight? I found a lot of the pages were down... hmmm, maybe they are posting new info?

Would the hydro be causing that much of a HP drop ?
