John Deere 2520 (2011)
About 2 weeks ago, we took delivery on our 2011 2520. Like many others here, we took advantage of the $2500 promotion and signed the papers on May 31. The 2520 was on the lot and if it had not been there when I stopped a week prior, I doubt we would have considered purchasing a different tractor (we traded in our 2007 2320). It took awhile for the FEL and PHD to get to the dealer which really was no big deal, as we just continued to use the 2320. So in the end, we went with the FEL and PHD as our 2 attachments, ordered a PTO shaft for our FM snowblower (the 2520 is a bit longer than the 2320) and worked an iMatch into the deal.

We only have about 5 hours on the meter to date and the only negative comment I have thus far, is the area behind and under the seat is no longer enclosed. On our 2320 it was and I used to place my gloves, tool, sunflower seeds, etc in that area. But not really a big deal and I did immediately notice the quicker response for loader controls.

Here a few pics & mods I have made to date and yes...I am aware I need to change my signature now.

Very nice rig.......I have a 2520 myself, and am very happy with it.

I like your toolbox, where did you get it if you don't mind my asking? It looks like a pretty sturdy box, and seems to fit nicely behind the seat. I haven't seen any like that before.

Is it just bolted to the heavy plate behind the seat? I really want to put a toolbox on mine, and it looks like that plate behind the seat is about the only spot. Yours seems to fit, even with the "Slow moving Vehicle" sign left on.

Looks like you have to take it off with the post hole digger on.

rev,

Thank you. I am very much enjoying the 2520.

It is an ATV/Tractor Universal Toolbox which I bought at Fleet Farm. I noted you are in Canada so tonight I took 2 pics of the box the toolbox came in. It is made by Larin & PN MTB-16G. Below is a link at Fleet Farm's competitor Farm & Fleet website.

Larin Green ATV / Tractor Tool Box (16") at Blain's Farm & Fleet

For mounting, I used an existing hole (RH side)on the plate behind the seat and drilled a hole on the left hand side and used a #12 self tapping metal screw (see the 3rd pic).

Regarding the SMV I added a couple of washers on the 2 bolts between the SMV sign and bracket to ensure there wouldn't be interference when opening the lid of the toolbox.

I thought about the PHD when I mounted this but my primary concern was the 3pt arm. If you look at the orgininal pics I posted, I have about 18" of clearance between the bottom of the auger and the ground. I am hoping when I have the PHD mounted and not lifting it up completely, I can still keep at least 12" of ground clearance b/n the auger and the ground and also not slam it up against the toolbox. Once I mount PHD again, I will test my theory and can post some pics.

I hope this helps

lost in wisconsin Nice looking tractor  I also took advantage of the $2,500 incentive. Working great so far with the minor bump in the road of a metal hydraulic line failure that was fixed very quickly by the dealer.

Realy like the additional lighting on your "light cages". That's probably my next two additions.

small,

If you decide on the lights, it would be better (as in cheaper)to order directly from JW Speaker than through JD.

Let me know if you decide to proceed and I can give some PN's if you need it.

Thanks lost

I took a look at their site it looks like to get price quotes you need to contact the company. I didn't see any prices listed?

Yours appear to be the led version?

Thanks Lost, for the info on the toolbox. You're right, I'm in Ontario, Canada, so I will check to see if there are any "Farm Fleet" Dealers around here. Hopefully I can find a source for the box, I really like it. it looks great, and is exactly what I had envisioned.
