Hi
l just joined up so l thought l better say hello,
my name is Andy and l live just about bang slap in the middle of the UK, l am not a farmer nor do l make a living off the land but l do have a 28 acre patch of land that l gradually bringing round to how l want it, l wanted a wood but couldent find one or afford one so l have been busy planting a small 5 acre corner of the land over the last 4 or 5 years, l have dug the the almost mandatery lake in the middle of my wooded area  and now want to flatten out and mow some paths around this area which is what brings me here, l want to build a small tractor or perhaps tug is a better word, l want to tow round a roller which weighs at a guess 2 tons maybe a bit more, l was searching for home built tractors and found you lot
now l need the ground to be soft for the roller to have much of an effect on the ground which gives me a problem with the 4x4 l am using as its so heavy it sinks, so what l was thinking was making a lighter 4x4 but with much lower gearing, l have it worked out in my head l just need to draw it and you guys can tell me why it wont work , l an not a newcomer to building stuff l have built trailers, water bowsers tube benders, buggies etc etc, just a bit unsure about the relationship between the weight of the vehicle and its towing abilities
anyway hello all
